DAY 7(LastDay)
SHANGHAI/SINGAPORE

-Qibao Ancient Town
-ShangHai Mesuem
The ShangHai Museum. The museum had many old artefacts such as old coins during the Qing dynasty, old paintings, and old clothes and so on. We realised that this was somehow related to the things we were currently learning for history which had to do with China's history. The ancient thing had a long history. Some even up to 4000 years. By having this museums, they can teach their citizens about the history of China as well as attract tourist to the place.

Next stop:Qibao Ancient Town. This town remind me of the past few streets i went by. Like the Dongguan Street. They all have the traditional in them. Even though the shops are not as modernise as Singapore. I feel that i enjoyed shopping here with my teammate because i enjoyed the Chinese tradition. It has been an enriching trip for me.

Today marks our last day in OELP. The week we have waited since the starting of year. This trip our class have bonded together. The thing i enjoyed the most is the class will sit down together to have our meals. During the meal time the guy will always joke around and talk our hearts out. It has been the event i anticipate the most. It is just the feeling when we sat down as a class. I do not know how to describe but it is very warm. Throughout this journey, we had a lot of fun and learnt about the chinese history. I further understood about my root. As a chinese i should know my culture and traditions.
Sometimes during night, Teck Weng and I would stay inside the room to talk about our daily lives. We realised that we have discovered the same thing. We even learn a lesson. Once we two were late for the gathering in the morning. Even though we were late by 3 minute. We know that even if we were late by a second, we are still counted as being late. That night we did a reflection and talked to Mr Chua about it. We have learnt a lot a lot during the conversation. We will keep it a habit to be on time for the other meetings.
In a blink of an eye, we are going back to Singapore now. I am starting to miss China, i do not know why. I think i have fall in love with the charm of ShangHai and YangZhou. They are beautiful in nautre. They do not need technology to make them beautiful and nice.

DAY 6(Attractions)
YANGZHOU/SHANGHAI

-Tian Zi Fang(田子坊)
-Oriental Pearl Tower(东方明珠塔)
-Old French Concession(法租界)
-Chenghuang Miao(城隍庙)
-Science and Technology museum

The ShangHai Science and Technology museum was very big and has many different exhibits. There were definitely a lot of things to learn about like the world of Robots, Animal Hall. From this exhibits, we have learnt a lot about science, technology and animals. Even though everything was in Chinese, we could still understand most of the contents clearly because we are able to speak both languages. We can see that the
government invest large amount of money to help the younger generation study science. They think that it is very important. We have learnt the importance of education. After the visit we went to watch a 4D movie about Medicines. The movie was very interested and entertaining.

Next we went to Cheng Huang Miao. This place will definitely be a favorite site for the shoppers. It was a crowded market place where you will see lots of shopping malls and stalls. We can see about the history of Cheng Huang Miao.  All of the shops, however were designed in a traditional style, they preserved the traditional feels. The entire place also resembles an ancient Chinese temple, preserving the traditional Chinese architecture. They chose not to modernise it as it has a long history and is worth preserving.

Next stop:田子坊
Our last stop was TianZiFang was another shopping street, like DongGuan Street, but smaller. It had many shops there which sold similar goods. We had a great time there. What i think special about this place is that the goods there are very special. There are many traditional goods for us to buy. Maybe this is why it is worth preserving. It is not about the place, it is about the history and culture. They need to preserve the place so that generations later, people still can come to this place to learn about the history. I hope that even if the other places modernise, TianZiFang should be kept in good condition.

Next and the best stop-东方明珠塔
It is a must to go in ShangHai. The famous 东方明珠塔.however our group faced a problem there. When we were taking photo at the bottom of the tower, Mr Dela Cruz scolded us for not following the tour guide and confiscated our phone.Hence we were unable to take any photo inside the tower. What a waste... We regretted it a lot. This place is near the economic hub in ShangHai. The building around it is the main economic activity in ShangHai. In the tower, We were able to see the HuangPu river and the improvements of the ShangHai economic.

French Concession
We only managed to pay a short visit to the french concession. However it was closed. We were able to see a lot of foreigners around the french concession. I think that they are in ShangHai but when they miss their home they will go to the French Concession.

In conclusion i think that the China preserved the attractions so that they can attract tourist from other countries to come to China and spend money. This will help in China's economic growth. The attractions can also teach the tourist about the history of China. Through this trip today, i have learn even more about China's economic. The most important lesson i learn today is about self-awareness. I should know the right timing to do the right things. I should not have stopped at the bottom of the the tower to take a photo when the tour guide was bringing us into the tower.

DAY 5(History)
YANGZHOU

-Former residence of Zhu Ziqing(朱自清故宫)
-Dongguan Street(东关历史文化街)
-Slender West Lake and 24 bridges(瘦西湖)
-Dong Quan Men Alley(东圈门历史街)

Today is a very meaningful day. I have learn a lot about the history of China. The places we went had a long history. For example the 朱自清故宫. I feel that Zhu Zi Qing's former residence is made a tourist attraction because of its value. It is kept as a historical site. Zhu Zi Qing contributed much to China's education system. He wanted to help China's children to have a better education system. This preserved the story of  朱自清 for the other generations to remember him.

东关历史文化街. Once you enter this street, you felt like you travelled through time. You experience how the Chinese lived in the past. The buildings, the food. This street have been preserved . Everything felt like ancient China. In the street, you can find many chinese history. For example, you can find the wine shop with the olden Chinese wine bottle. There are also knives for the tourist to buy. Even though it is not modernised, the street is very peaceful and quiet compared to Singapore. The people there seemed very happy and relaxed. Maybe this is the reason why a lot of tourist chose to go to YangZhou for holiday.

Slender West Lake & 24 bridges. The lake is very very very beautiful. For a city people, the lake is very peaceful. inside the lake is a lot of flowers and trees. It is a good place to take a break from the busy city life. There is a bridge with 24 steps on it. It was said that it is named after 24 beauties standing on the bridge. It is places like this who attracted the tourist to help China's economic growth.

东圈门历史街- This is like a local market, we can see the way the Chinese people lived from the things they sell. They like handcraft work. I could see a lot of handmade bracelets shops around.

Today's trip have taught me about China's history. I started to admire the history about China. I found the charm of China, why many years people from all over the world came to visit China and learn about its rich history. At first i thought that the trip would be a boring one. But i changed my mind after i visited the historical place. This is what we cannot learn in lessons in Singapore. Today has indeed been a meaningful one.

DAY 3&4(Education)
For Day 3 and 4, we had school immersion at 扬州树人中学 for the whole day, while on Day 4, we had school immersion till mid-afternoon, and then we went to a bookstore to purchase some chinese book. During the school immersion. We have learn a lot from the educational system of the 扬州树人中学.
When i was at the school, i was impressed by the size of the school! The school was almost thrice as big as River Valley High School! They had a big banner to welcome us once we arrived. What i was impressed is that the principal of the school went to fetch us at the hotel. It was very sincerely done. It showed how important we were in her eyes. She wanted us to enjoy the school immersion program as much as possible. After we went into the school, the first thing we did was to observe a chinese lesson in the school.
I realised that the chinese students behaved very well during the lesson. Their chinese standard is very high. They will not fall asleep like us. When the teacher ask for group discussion, they will all join in the discussion. This is what our class lack of. We can learn from them and participate actively in class. The chinese student were also not afraid of speaking out loud. Some of us lack of confident and speaks softly. After talking to my buddy, i found out that they study until 10pm into the night. I was very shocked. I thought that in Singapore we are already released very late. But compared to the Chinese Students, we are counted as early.

We also joined them in their chinese painting lesson. My buddy taught me patiently Chinese Painting. It required a lot of patient and focus. This is very similar to our school. We also have Chinese Painting lessons in Chinese Literature. Maybe Chinese Painting is what every Chinese should know so our school also focused a lot in educating us Chinese painting.

Photo taken during a school trip to the school's
Garden. Their school garden is the size of four soccer field. In China, they have a lot of land hence they could built such a big school at the cheap price. I think that the garden is used for the students to relax after their stress work.

Its our sharing time.  Both school researched and  prepared history of themselves to share during this sharing session. Our school prepared about the history of Singapore while they showed us some Chinese history. Through this session i have learn a lot from the Chinese Student. I realised that both of the schools had the same motto. They aimed to develop the student into a leader of extinction. But the difference is in the student. Chinese students are more creative and daring. They dare to step towards their dream. For example there was a chinese student who tried a lot of experiments at home for his science research alone and he won an award at the local science fair. We can learn from them to step out be brave when achieving our own dreams.
A short present from the Shu Ren school! They gave us Duck Egg. According to the chinese history. The duck egg can protect us. This is what we can't learn in textbooks. But as a chinese we need to know them.

Making our own bracelet! This might be challenging at first try. But once you get the pattern, it is very easy. Sharon School focused a lot on teaching us the culture of the chinese people. In Singapore, we always focused too much on academic, but we might not know a lot about our root. This traditions have been passed down generations, we should not let the tradition stop in our hand.
Maybe this is the only thing i did not like about ShuRen school. This toilet compared to Our school toilet is much dirtier. This shows that their school is not that modernise yet.  I did not know where to stand when i was in the toilet.  I think that both schools are doing a good job in educating their students. Singapore might be modernised in the technology way of teaching but ShuRen School have a lot of tradition and culture for us to learn.

In comparision
-Black Board or Visualiser
-Garden/Soccer field
-Students can wear their own clothes to school/Rv uniform
Drains instead of toilet bowls in toilets/Clean toilet
All rooms have air-conditioners/Some room have air-conditioners

I think that the education system in China is not as strict as that in Singapore. According to my buddies, the local students had just homework and not projects. This decreases the burden on their shoulders. However, in Singapore, we have plenty of projects apart from homework. However i think that projects can help us to learn teamwork and leadership. China focus a lot on academic. We can see from the amount of Co-Curriculum Activities they have. They only have 6-8  compared to our school with around 30-40. This shows that our school develop our students in more ways than ShuRen School.

DAY 2(Lifestyle)
SHANGHAI/YANGZHOU

-Travel to Yangzhou early morning
-Visit to Geyuan Garden
-Chinese Paper Cutting Museum
-Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal
-Local market visit

Today in the morning we first went to the GeYuan garden to start off the day. GeYuan is owned by a rich man in the olden China. The place is very beautiful and well built. We can see that the owner of the placed enjoyed his life a lot. We realised that the chairs in GeYuan was the same for our school Garden. The chairs are faced outside instead of inside. Our school also followed the tradition. At first when i first saw the garden in our school, i found it ridiculous to have the chairs facing outside instead of the garden. But after the visit i changed my mind. Through the visit to the garden, we are able to learn that the rich people in the past lived a comfortable life. When you are inside GeYuan, you feel very comfortable in the nature. Maybe the Owner of the placed like nature a lot hence he planted lots of plants in it.

Then we took bus to the Chinese Paper Cutting Museum. Teck Weng and i had fun on the bus by talking nonsense. We will try to make up jokes to boost the mood in the bus.The paper cutting museum was exhausting. The paper cutting activity i felt like it took ten years before it was done. But after completing it i felt a great sense of achievement. Paper cutting have long history and is a traditional activity. The chinese in the past loved paper cutting. As a chinese i could experience this olden form of art in China. The paper cutting is usually used to celebrate festivals. In Singapore, We rarely see Chinese traditional culture even though we are Chinese, I felt that it was a good trip to the museum to see about the culture and history of paper cutting. At the end of the lesson, i cut a paper cat out. It was one of the hardest picture to cut. The paper cutting has been amazing, We could cut out every shape with a paper and a sissors. I felt very satisfied looking at my work as i spent a lot of time on it.
Lastly at night, we paid a visit to the local market and completed a small group project. Our group went around to compare the prices of stuff in Singapore and in China. Surprisingly China stuff are much cheaper than Singapore's and has more choices for the consumer. We believe that it is due to the large production in China hence, the price was low to attract customers to buy their good. During the visit, our group also bought all the snacks so that we could enjoy ourselves at night hehehe.
Overall, i that today i have learnt a lot about the traditional life of the chinese people and their culture. As a Chinese, I believe that i need to know my roots. Today's visit gave me a clearer idea about the culture and tradition of the Chinese people.

DAY 1(The Beautiful City)
SINGAPORE/SHANGHAI

- Depart from Changi Airport
- Arrive in Shanghai International Airport
- Dinner in Shanghai
- Cultural visit to The Bund (外滩)
- Cruise Tour to Huangpu River (黄浦江)
- Check-In Hotel (Shanghai Holiday Inn Express Gongkang Hotel)
- Debrief

Today it marks the starting of the trip. This morning i was still on the plane to Shang Hai and now i am at the Holiday Inn Express hotel after the debrief. I have learn about What have been the main economic activities in China.
When i first arrived at the ShangHai airport, what struck me the most is that their transportation system compared to Singapore is comparable. They have Maglev trains like our MRT. But they are much faster. The city is also very clean. They have improved tremendously over the years.
Waiting for my ride down the river
During the boat ride at the HuangPu river. We found a lot of tall working buildings belonging to different Banks in China. Shang Hai being one of the most developed cities in China, they opened a lot of banks to help the economic growth. Huang Pu river contributed largely to the economic in the olden days for China. Ports were built for traders to trade in Shang Hai.Being to China the first time today. I have seen the poor and rich part of ShangHai. Those families located further away from the city they did not benefit much from the economic growth in ShangHai. They are living in poverty. Their houses was very old.

I found a very cute street today. The 长寿路. I guess when i step on that road i can become
长寿. I feel that the streets in ShangHai compared to Singapore is less crowded. The people seemed very distant from each other unlike Singapore. The HDB flats promote harmony and closeness between neighbours. Maybe it is because that Shanghai is a big city. The people there stay a distance away from each other. They have a lot more place to go compared to Singapore.
After the long and tiring day, the best part is to take a warm shower and sleep. The maggie supper was fantastic too.

CID BLOGWORK 8 (Education system)
Looking at the top right hand side of the blog, i am so excited for OELP! It is getting nearer and nearer. It is going to be a fun trip for everyone. During the trip we will be visiting 树人中学 In YangZhou. Before the trip, My teacher Miss Huang told us thing about China's education system. She compared the education system in different countries.China topped the paper taking tests. However, some experts said that they have yet to produce a person like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates.
I am very curious about how their school lives work. Once i am in their school, i will pay attention to their school lives and note them down. When i come back i can share with my friends what i have learn in their school. Are the students there really a exam taking machine? I think that Singapore's educational system also produces students who are test taking machines. We study six years for our major test PSLE, then we graduate from primary school into secondary school. We will study another six years for our A levels. What we learn in school cannot apply into our future and is not according to our interest .Shanghai' s schools are the most competitive in a country where attaining top exam results is the sole aim of education. The reason is simple; to gain entry to the next level of the system from primary school onwards, schools rely only on testing. The higher ranked the middle school, high school or university, the higher the requirements for entry. Thus, from a young age, students get thrown into an endless cycle of learning, preparing for, and taking exams. Can this really help them in the future?Shanghai is an extreme reflection of the Chinese system. The super competitive, overpopulated, high-pressure nature of the schools, coupled with the significant financial backing of test-fixated parents, means students are conditioned from a young age to out-perform the competition in tests.I do not think this is beneficial to the students. They should study based on their interest.

I think that when students study based on their interest they can learn better. We should not just learn according to the textbook and memorise for our tests. We should open up our education system to things other than the exams. For example students can pick up computer skills if they want to be a computer technician in the future. In this way students can learn through practical and have more experiences. Singapore has also one of the highest scores for PISA. I think that we might be following the footstep of ShangHai. We should open up our education system instead of sticking to the paper taking style. We should expose our students to the outside world. Maybe soon Singapore can produce her own Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. We should not keep the students' potential in a small box, we should let their imagination flow.

CID BLOGWORK 8 (Singapore expenditure)
After today's lesson, I was shocked by Singapore's expenditure. We are named as the most expensive city in the , some people might joke about it saying that Singapore is finally first at something. But i believe that Singapore is still one of the best city to live in due to the following reason.
Firstly, Singapore have a high expenditure for food or daily needs compared to other countries because we do not have any natural resources, we spent a lot of money importing from other countries. Hence all the food are in good quality. However since the expenditure is very expensive. Our salary is also one of the highest in the world. Hence i think that it is balanced out. The graph shows that Singapore has the highest median household and median per-capital income. With high salary, we can afford the life just like other countries. We can live comfortably.People might also complain that the beers and cigarets are too expensive. I think that the government is trying to help the citizens to save them from death. Cigarets and beers are very harmful to your body. Hence the government raised the price so that lesser people will buy it.
Some people also say that the taxes in Singapore is very high and they say that the government is 'eating' the money when Singapore has one of the best and incorrupted government. They have higher salary might be due to the fact that when they have higher salary corruption rate will be lowered because the governors will be satisfied with their job and salary so they will not accept bribing. The taxes will also be used to develop Singapore. For example on highways, there are ERP located along. The tax collected by the ERP will be used to develop the transportation system in Singapore. With the money they can build more roads connecting to more places and as well as upgrading the roads. Without the taxes how the Singaporeans enjoy such a nice and comfortable transporting system? Hence i believe that Singapore's expenditure compared to other countries is no different.
All the things we enjoy are the privileges given to us when the expenditure is high. It is mainly due to the fact that we do not have natural resources. They other countries with lower salary might be complaining that their expenditure are very high too because the ratio of their salary to the expenditure is low. The ratio for other countries compared to us might be around the same. Hence i feel that Singapore's high expenditure have its own reasons.

CID BLOGWORK 7 (Icon Of Singapore)
If you ask me whether merlion(鱼尾狮) is the best icon to represent Singapore, I would definitely say yes. Merlion can be the best icon to represent Singapore due to many reasons.Today's lesson was very interesting. We had a debate over what should be the best Icon to represent Singapore.

Merlion is a unique mascot of Singapore with a lion head and a fish tail.Merlion can only be found in Singapore as it is an idea suggested in Singapore and not by any other country. Merlion also have a Singapore story behind it. It is best to represent Singapore. When people talk about Merlion, they will think about Singapore  Although in Singapore there are also other attractions such as Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa and Ferris Wheel, such buildings can be found in other countries too as other countries could also have a tall building, a garden with a lot of plants, a beach and also a Ferris wheel. Merlion can be a very unique landmark to Singapore. However, Merlion belongs to Singapore and only Singapore. In addition merlion was built by the Singapore' late sculptor. When we celebrate National day we will paste the sticker of a flag and a merlion on our face. This shows that Singaporeans are proud of using merlion as their country icon.has it. Thus, I feel that Merlion is the best icon to represent Singapore.

Moreover, if you ask a foreigner what they think resembles Singapore the most, they would probably say it's Merlion. When foreigners visit Singapore. They will definitely visit Merlion and take a photo with it. Merlion keychains and soft toys are also being sold all over Singapore. Foreigners would buy it as a memorable item when they return to their country.   They have also probably went to sentosa and saw the Merlion structure. When they see such a big sculpture, they would think that it has a great value. In their mind, Merlion would be the mascot of Singapore. Thus, I feel that Merlion beat represents Singapore.Because when people talk about merlion, We know that they are talking about Singapore and not any other country. Because it belongs uniquely to Singapore.Lastly People also call Singapore the 'Lion City' Hence i feel that Merlion is the best icon to Represent Singapore.

CID BLOGWORK 6( Remembering LKY and Golden Age)
Lee Kuan Yew (16 September 1923 – 23 March 2015), commonly known by his initials LKY, was the first Prime Minister of Singapore, governing for three decades. He is the founding father of modern Singapore, and is credited in bringing Singapore from a third world status to a first world status in a single generation. He served a total of 52 years as ministerial position then he stepped down.

Just like Singapore, Tang Dynasty has good leaders too to make it a very vibrant period of time in China history. It was the wealthiest and most prosperous time of China and people from that time was leading a life with high level of economic development.People were prosperous. People there do not worry about resources. There are no food shortages and people are safe and sound. Singapore is also of the same state as Tang Dynasty as people from both are leading a blissful life with not much troubles to worry about. All these are done my our great nation leaders who put in their heart and sweats and their utmost just to bring the best to their people. Mr Lee was a man of determination. Anyone could tell from his speeches his determination to fight for Singapore.

He succeed in bringing Singapore to where she is now. He executed plans with his iron will and determination.Lee Kuan Yew was a visionary leader, incorruptible and non ideologicalHe eschewed populist policies in favor of pragmatic long-term social and economic measures. One of the most unpopular plan he executed was the national service. How ever it has brought more good than bad for Singapore. Singapore's military defence has improved tremendously over the years under his lead.He also insisted on racial harmony. He made people from different races live together to promote racial harmony. Now we have friends from different races living together peacefully. He also practiced anti-corruption. He foresee that corruption can be a very big problem. Hence,  punished governors who corrupt heavily.

Today more than millions have went to pay respect for Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Hope he can rest in piece after helping Singapore to build a city where Its people can be proud of.Lee was a captivating orator articulate in three languages english,Chinese and Malay – enabling him to reach the widest audience of the nation's multi-racial, multi-cultural citizenry. His popularity and his country's sustained economic growth during his tenure helped extend his his single dominant party control.
Mr Lee Kuan Yew is truely respected by many people. Even Obama once said that"Lee Kuan Yew was truely a giant of history." Today i would like to express my gratitude towards Mr Lee Kuan Yew too. Thank you for sacrificing your life in building Singapore. What have u achieved?A successful Singapore. What have u sacrificed? Your life. Your legacy will forever be remembered in our heart. Next time i will tell your great history to my kids. Maybe you rest in peace. We have made our very own golden age.

CID BLOGWORK(March Holiday) Extra

CID BLOGWORK 5 (Presentation Week for thing representing SG)
The Member in Group 4 Have done well for the presentation. Everyone in the group had the chance to present their work and their products for China. Their products are interesting and i realised that most of the thing i am using now are made in China. China's market is really big. It imports products to all over the world.

CID BLOGWORK 4(China On The Rise)

To Start today's lesson. Miss Huang let us played a mini game for us to understand the economic growth of China.
Today's lesson have taught me the growth in China's Economic.China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) have surged up the global rankings .It is currently second in the entire world. China manufacture many goods since its corporate tax rate is lower than USA's hence countries prefer to import things from China. China's GDP per capital however is very low. Its dense population resulted in many people becoming unemployed, people is very poor and do not have a house. Hence the GDP per capita is low as compared to other countries.

When China opens up to international trade, there will be a lot of countries importing resources from China as it has a lot of natural resources such as water, coal, oil which other countries don't have. When the demands for these resources increases due to other countries' lack of them, there will be a lot of income contributed to China's economic and thus, lead to economic growth of China. There is a high population rate in China thus, a lot of work force. Hence, a lot of different industries can be embarked on and thus, China becomes more and more powerful as countries will be interested in marketing in China since it has a lot of industries and they will be able to make a lot more profits. When a lot of countries work with China, China soon becomes wealthy as there are a lot of income from all sorts of industries and this aids in the economic growth in China.

China will soon take over the whole market. They will be catching up with United States of America. Singapore also import things from China because it is very cheap. Singapore also have a good relationship with China to trade. So it beneficial for us to pick up chinese language . It will help us in our carrier in the future.
With the growing of China's economic. A lot of people in China is still leaving in poverty. It is ridiculous that there are high percentage of people living poverty in China, one of the richest country in the world.I feel that the government should put in more effort to ensure that their citizens are living comfortably as they are the workers who worked hard in China's economic growth. They are the pillar of support for China's economic. Without them production of good will not be possible. Hence i think that they should enjoy the benefit of China's economic growth more. Then China can become a even stronger country with its many natural resources.

So can China continue to grow and overtake USA? It remains a question. However I feel that China have a lot of resources.Like their manpower and land. These resources can bring them a lot of advantage .Hence China would catch up with USA sooner or later. The workers can also enjoy a good life.

CID BLOGWORK 3(Singapore's Dwelling Population)

How much do we know about our country? Today 's CID our class talked about Singapore. So what do you know about Singapore?
In a little less than 50 years, Singapore has managed to propel itself into an economic powerhouse in the region. But as we struggle to stay ahead of the race, perhaps we need our neighbours more than they need us.

With plans to bolster regional economic integration through the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, barely a year away, now is neither the time to be xenophobic nor strain relationships with our neighbours, let alone throw a puerile temper-tantrum over the interdependence between nations.

Singapore's low birth rate have caused a lot of problem.Like the shortage of people entering workforce which resulted in more foreigners entering into Singapore's workforce. It is a fact that Singapore is host to some 1.3 million foreign workers that make up close to a quarter of its total population. But even as the grumbling continues over scarcity of prized jobs amid escalating prices, it is a small group of irrational disgruntled Singaporeans – not foreigners – that is really hurting Singapore.
Singapore has a large amount of foreign workers. In the near future, Singaporean teenagers might have a hard time competing over good jobs with the foreign talent. They might be brain drained to other countries for a higher salary.I think that they can prevent this by encouraging teenagers to give birth more and take care of the elders so that they don't fall sick easily. We need more Singaporeans to enter the workforce if not Singapore's economic will be affected.
I feel that Government need to encourage marriage by providing more support to Singaporeans wanting to start families and monetary bonus for children. In addition, that can also enhance work-life measures to help working couples balance work and family commitments. These plans can help the government to have more people in the workforce. They can also extend the working age for people before they retire so that more people will be in the workforce.
In conclusion i think that Singaporeans can solve the crisis together. Everyone need to contribute in order to solve it fast.

CID BLOGWORK 2(Two Beggars)
This CID lesson have taught me not to judge a person by his/her action without knowing the reason behind it. The result might turn out surprising to you. If two beggars are standing in front of you. In your view they are just two beggars. There is a difference between a beggar who cheat people's money for a living by begging and a beggar who needs that money to start a new life. It's painful to know that. We should always look at someone from different perspectives. The lesson gave us example of two beggars. One carrying a child to beg to cheat money while the other healthy one beg to start his business. Which one will u give? If u know their stories Of cause you will choose the second one. If you do not know you might give your money to the first one.
Once i saw a man selling tissue outside the MRT station. His limbs were healthy but he couldn't speak. From my perspective, i thought the man was pitiful.Out of sympathy i bought 3 packet of tissue paper from him for a buck. However I realised that i was wrong to buy tissue paper from him. The guy turned out to be a cheater. He could talk and do things like a normal person!
From this we could learn that we should not judge a person by its appearance. They can be a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. There might be a different side of the person.

How many bubbles have you popped? The more you pop the more hearts and ducks you will steal away from JunJie!

CID BLOGPOST 1(Holiday)

REFLECTION ON DECEMBER HOLIDAY!
Like what u see in the picture, you can guess what i want to share for my first post! It will be about my facilitating experience during the holiday. It was one of the best memories i ever made in River Valley High school. So we started by going through interviews during the holiday. Before i go for the interview, i was very nervous that i couldn't make it through the interview. But that day came, i did not do my best for the interview but yeah! i got through the interview and i am a facilitator.

I was over the moon when they told me that i am the facilitators for the Year 1 2015. I wanted to become a facilitator as when i was Year 1, i felt very welcomed to River Valley High School because of my facilitators. I was inspired by them to became one, therefore i went for the interview. And yeah the doll in the picture is my facilitator group identity! It was done by every single one of ZhangBuDa members.

First we before we start our facilitator trainings, we had our Leadership camp. The picture above is our first group photo during the LTC. It was a very enriching experience for me. I have learnt a lot from the camp and definitely bonded more with my facilitator group.

  Trainings!

During the holidays, The facilitators was called back to school for facilitator training. I remember the it was the first training. All of the facilitators were awkward with each other but we were there for the same reason. We wanted to make our Year 1s enjoy their Orientation camp. We do not know one another but fortunately i had my good friend, Teck Weng with me. As usual i remember we both were late for the first training. That day was just a ice breaker day between the facilitators. We had a lot more trainings waiting for us. When we were doing cheers , we were so awkward that we did not even jump or shout a lot. We did not get scolded because it was the first day. As the trainings go on we had more trainings.

More and More trainings!

For the Next training, we have already bonded with each other. We cheer, eat and get scolded together. We spent our time together training ourselves to become a better facilitator for the Year 1s. Our Family Head EnTong told us to treasure our time together as a group ZhangBuDa. WE WILL BE FOREVER YOUNG HAHA. Now as i write about it, all the memories started flowing back. I really miss those moments when we spent our time laughing, dancing , playing and fooling around together. And yeah i will be facilitating 1K 2015 with the people in the picture. (Me,JingJing,Chloe Sim,Megan,YuHeng) From left to right. We all were working towards to goal of making our class the best year 1 class during the orientation. I feel that we definitely did it!

FACILITATORS OUTING!!!
The ZhangBuDas went for the outing together with group Sodium Fine. That outing was to travel around the MRT and completing missions. For example we traveled to Bukit Batok to find someone in the West MAll. If we succeed in finding the person, the person will give us a mission for us to complete before proceeding to the next location. The two groups worked together and we really ahd a lot of fun. By the end of the day, both groups took a group photo together. And we were prepared for the school starting and receiving the Year1s, i believed that we are all acquired with the skills to lead our juniors.
End of Orientation 2015...

By the end of Orientation 2015, every single facilitator shed a tear. Maybe the year 1s might not understand why we are being so emotional and crying because the Orientation is ending. But as a facilitator, all the memories, laughter, time we spent together, the year 1s...
It was definitely a good leading experience and i was glad that my class was a good one. Now I am more bonded with my schoolmates and i will be definitely joining O1 2016 because i have so much feels for orientation now.
